A few notes from Rome

Hello Everyone,

Within the framework of the project (Anti)Realism I made a series of interventions with local artist Antonio Venti and curator Adrianne Drake along with an installation in the gallery Adele-C.

I wanted to share this with you since it was greatly influenced by our collaborations.

I include the English versions of the texts.

"This area has been known to reactivate visitors’ childhood memories. Do not be alarmed if you find yourself crying over a long lost friend, relative or pet. Your emotional hypersensitivity will be gone upon departure."

"Lawyers working for the local administration have concluded that marriage and family life constitute a breach of local law. They are aware that it will take centuries before married life can be abolished. But to start the process, all books, films and other cultural expressions will be re-edited and depictions of family life removed. If you buy books, see films, visit the theatre, go to galleries or listen to music in this town you might find that the local versions do not correspond to versions sold and circulated in the rest of the world. The first work to be re-adapted was Ibsen’s “A Doll's House”. The local version is 30 seconds long and depict Nora leaving a house."

"Through a fold in the eight dimension, a virologist, two primary school teachers, a plumber a thief and three cats have been locked into these rocks. String theorists suggest that they might be freed by submitting the rocks to extremely powerful radiations. Other sources claim that they will be liberated as soon as the rocks are returned to their place of origin."

A visitor to the gallery in Sweden has added some comments. They particularly talk about the Mayan calender that ends in 2012 and which suggests that great changes will take place in our lives when that happens.

wicked stuff!
